Research has demonstrated that psychiatric consultation and short-term follow-up provided by telepsychiatry can produce clinical outcomes that are equivalent to those achieved when patients are assessed and followed in-person.
Controlled substances (Ativan, Xanax, Valium, Clonazepam, Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, Temazepam, ADHD Stimulant medicationsetc) cannot be prescribed via telehealth unless you have seen the provider first in person. Otherwise, all other psychiatric medications can be prescribed by your online psychiatrist.
